horses...

Okay, I admit it. I’m a bona fide horse nut. Have been ever since I can remember. I’ve been competing in the sport of combined training (or eventing), which is kind of like an equine triathalon, since I was about 8 years old.

I took a horse with me to college, and on all my various moves around the country since. I either ride or just go to the barn for a visit nearly every single day. It is time consuming, but I’ve been doing it so long that I don’t think I’d know what to do with free time if I had it!

But no matter what else is going on in my screwed-up world, I can always count on that one stress-free hour in the saddle to get me thinking straight again. People who know me can vouch for the fact that I get downright cranky when I’ve been deprived of my horse fix for too long.
